B2B Panels vs Consumer Panels: Why the Distinction Matters in MENA

A B2B panel and a consumer panel solve different problems and are recruited, verified, and priced differently. What actually separates them, and how to tell if a provider has real B2B reach in the GCC.

"We have a panel of 500,000 in the GCC" is a claim that means very different things depending on whether that panel is built for consumer research or B2B research. Conflating the two is one of the most common ways research budgets get wasted.

What makes a panel genuinely "B2B"?

A B2B panel targets people by professional role, seniority, industry, and company size - IT decision-makers, procurement managers, healthcare professionals, finance leaders. Recruiting and verifying this audience is fundamentally harder than recruiting general consumers: there are simply fewer qualifying professionals in the region, and self-reported job titles need to be checked, not taken at face value.

Healthcare research is its own sub-case

A healthcare professional panel in the GCC - physicians, pharmacists, nurses - needs credential verification on top of everything a general B2B panel needs. Providers who claim broad B2B reach but can't describe how they verify professional credentials are usually reselling self-reported job titles, which inflates the apparent panel size without delivering the audience you actually need. This is closely related to the identity verification and trust scoring work that protects consumer panel quality too - the principle is the same, applied to a harder audience.

B2B panels require verified roles, seniority, industry, and—where relevant—professional credentials.

How to check if a provider's B2B reach is real

  1. Ask how professional role and seniority are verified, not just self-declared
  2. Ask for typical incidence rates by role in your target country - a provider with real reach can give you a number, not a guess
  3. Run a small feasibility check before committing to full fieldwork
  4. Expect - and budget for - premium incentives; underpaying senior professionals for their time is the fastest way to get rushed, low-quality responses

A consumer panel with a job-title filter is not a B2B panel. Verification is what makes the difference.

Tayqun runs targeted B2B recruitment across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the wider GCC using the same identity-verification and quality-scoring pipeline applied to every response, with role-specific screening layered on top for professional and healthcare audiences.
