Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

Tayqun operates this survey research platform and is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy matter, or to reach our data protection contact, email privacy@tayqun.com. Where you take part in a survey, the researcher who commissioned it may be an independent controller of the (anonymized) responses you provide.

2. Information We Collect

We collect: (a) account data you provide - name, email address, phone, password (hashed); (b) profile and demographic data you choose to share to qualify for surveys (e.g. age, gender, country, education, employment); (c) survey responses; (d) wallet and payout details needed to pay you; (e) technical data - IP address, browser and device information, and a device fingerprint used solely for fraud prevention; (f) communications you send us. We do not collect more than is needed for each purpose (data minimisation).

3. How We Use Your Data & Legal Bases (GDPR Art. 6)

We process your data to: provide the platform and your account (performance of contract); match you with eligible surveys (performance of contract); process rewards and withdrawals (performance of contract and legal obligation); detect fraud and protect data quality, including response-quality scoring and duplicate detection (legitimate interest); send service emails (legitimate interest / legal obligation); send marketing emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; and comply with law (legal obligation).

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies for login and security, and optional functional, analytics, and marketing cookies only with your prior consent. You can accept, reject, or customise categories in the consent banner and change your choice at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer. Full details, including a table of every cookie and its lifetime, are in our Cookie Policy.

5. How We Share Data

Survey responses are shared with the commissioning researcher in pseudonymized/anonymized form - researchers never receive your name, email, or contact details. We share personal data only with: service providers that host or operate the platform (under data processing agreements), payment/payout providers to settle your earnings, and authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. International Data Transfers

If your data is transferred outside your jurisdiction (including outside the EEA/UK), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, and apply supplementary measures where needed.

7. Data Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymized within 90 days of account deletion, except where law requires longer retention (e.g. payment and tax records, kept up to the statutory period). Survey responses are anonymized after fieldwork ends. Fraud-prevention logs are kept for a maximum of 24 months. Consent records are kept as proof of compliance.

8. Your Rights - EEA, UK & Similar Jurisdictions (GDPR)

You have the right to: access your data (Art. 15), rectify it (Art. 16), erase it (Art. 17), restrict processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21), and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You can exercise these free of charge from the Your Privacy Rights page; we respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

9. Your Rights - US States (CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA & Others)

If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to: know/access the personal information we hold, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, limit use of sensitive personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising any right. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising; we nevertheless honor opt-out requests and the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. Submit requests via the Your Privacy Rights page or the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.

10. Children

The platform is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 (or under 16 in the EEA without parental consent). If we learn we have, we delete it promptly.

11. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication, role-based access controls, audit logging of administrative actions, and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure; we will notify you and the relevant authority of any breach as required by law (e.g. within 72 hours under GDPR).

12. Automated Decision-Making

We use automated quality and fraud scoring on survey responses, which can flag a response for human review. A response is never finally rejected, and an account never suspended, without human review. You may contest any such decision and request human intervention via support.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. For material changes we will notify you by email or in-app notice before the change takes effect, and update the date below. Earlier versions are available on request.

14. Contact & Complaints

Privacy questions, requests, and complaints: privacy@tayqun.com. EEA/UK users may also contact their supervisory authority; California residents may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.
